Side-Position Massage
Course Details
Esalen Massage done in the Side-Position offers the practitioner the opportunity to reach both the front and back of the body at the same time. Laying in a fetal position clients feel physically comfortable and secure. Pregnant women, in particular, as well as people who have difficulties laying on the stomach or the back, find this style of massage exceedingly relaxing. The practitioner, themselves, has access to many more movement possibilities, which involve the arms and legs.
Using the same slow, meditative style of Esalen Massage participants will learn how to use different tools other than their hands: forearms, elbows, shoulders, chin and knees. Using these larger tools also means the availability of touching larger areas of their clients’ body, thus creating a fuller feeling of relaxation.
Participants will learn body reading techniques in order to explore the multi-dimensional layers of the body. Special listening and reflection exercises will also be demonstrated, learned and practiced.
Comment:
